Ned Rector Joined the Obernel team in 2015 and soon became a partner in 2016. He is a mechanical engineer with over 30 years of building mechanical systems experience. He has worked on several high profile mechanical projects and has been involved in many aspects of the mechanical engineering and mechanical construction business. His professional roles have included consulting engineer, mechanical contractor, HVAC service manager, and campus capital projects director involving all construction types. He is experienced in all facets of mechanical building design, including plumbing, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, fire protection, and automatic control systems.
Ned’s mechanical engineering and construction experience have often involved existing building renovations and expansions with robust mechanical systems crucial to continued operations such as hospitals, surgery centers, pharmaceutical plants, laboratories, telephone equipment switch buildings, and operating manufacturing facilities. Ned has also completed many green and brownfield K-12 and higher educational projects, office buildings, retail outlets, and specialty industrial projects. Also, he has worked in a wide variety of contract delivery methods from traditional Consulting Engineering, Design Assist, CMAR team member, Prime Contractor, and comprehensive whole project mechanical Design-Build.
