It’s no secret Watford City has been growing the last few years and it was time for a new school. This new Watford City High School was built adjacent to the Watford City Event Center which is currently under construction.
ONE was responsible for the mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, fire protection engineering and lighting design. This allowed our team to design some unique features to help make an altogether outstanding project.
There were several spaces which were designed for additional capacity in the future, however the budget allowed those rooms to be completed as part of this project. In the chemistry rooms, ONE designed for natural gas to be routed there and for fume hood exhaust. The design team accounted for water quality in Watford City by putting in extra sedimentation filters and water softeners. The school also features a full commercial kitchen on the first floor. For this, ONE designed for ductwork to be routed over and up to the roof. ONE custom designed 4 of the 5 rooftop air handling units with a vestibule down the center to allow for maintenance to be performed inside the unit.
