Onigum Community Center
The new community center was designed to create a centralized space where community members can gather for various activities. The community center houses a gymnasium, community gathering space, educational spaces, a commercial kitchen, a fitness room, and a small tribal clinic.
Energy efficiency was a critical aspect in the design of the community center. Insulated Concrete Forms (ICF) were used in construction to help reduce the amount of energy needed to heat and cool the building. The usage of ICFs and other highly efficient design features help reduce energy costs by approximately 30%.
