Hulbert Aquatic Center
West Fargo, North Dakota
This project is a new aquatic center that was added on to L.E. Berger elementary school in West Fargo. It included a new Olympic sized pool that was used in the 2016 Olympic trials with locker rooms, mezzanine spectator seating and concession stands. It also sports a pair for one-meter diving boards and a pair of three-meter boards. The center can hold more than a thousand fans and up to 600 athletes.
ONE was responsible for mechanical and fire protection engineering on this project. A new mechanical space was also added onto the existing school to accommodate the new needs of the whole facility. The existing pool area was demolished and replaced with a smaller lesson pool and an area for dry land training. The new addition included typical plumbing design in the locker rooms and restrooms. The new addition brought new sanitary waste throughout the building. ONE was able to reuse the existing domestic water service. The entire building was installed with a new fire protection service.
