MPLS, Minn. July 11, 2018 – ONE engineers in Duluth and Minneapolis passed the Professional Engineer exam this May.
Paul Nelson, PE, CEM is the Mechanical Project Manager and Director of Operations in the Minneapolis office. Nelson passed his exam on May 25, 2018. Nelson joined the ONE team in 2008 and provides mechanical engineering support and expertise for a variety of commercial clients in the Minneapolis/St. Paul market. He earned his A.A.S. in Civil Engineering Technology from Minnesota State Community & Technical College in 2008 and later his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering in 2013 from North Dakota State University.
Cole Carlson, PE, CEM is a Mechanical & Energy Engineer in our Duluth office. Carlson also completed and passed his exam on May 25, 2018. Carlson received his M.S. Mechanical Engineering degree from the University of Colorado in 2012. Since joining ONE in 2016, Carlson provides energy-efficient technologies and sustainable business design.
The Professional Engineer exam is administered by the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES). Engineers are licensed at the state level when a candidate meets requirements, including education, experience, and exams. According to the NCEES website, “The PE exam is designed to test for a minimum level of competency in a particular engineering discipline. It is designed for engineers who have gained a minimum of four years of work experience in their chosen engineering discipline.”
